About the Artist, Beth Thorson

Greetings and thank you for visiting my website!  I'm a professional artist who enjoys creating realistic drawings, fantasy ceramics, tattoo designs and hand-made greeting cards in my spare time. I also write poetry, short stories and children's books.

I've dedicated my entire life towards art, holding onto the belief that without creativity, life would have no imagination. As most accomplished artists, I'm my own worst critic and constantly struggle over the satisfaction of my completed projects. A brilliant artist once told me, "the goal is not the journey's end, but the journey itself. " I suppose I've adopted that statement into my own personal destiny, all the while, believing that true art should be considered the process of creation instead of the finished project you see.

I currently live near the White Sands of New Mexico, although preparing to return to the Rocky Mountains in 2009. I believe Colorado is where the majority of my inspiration has evolved. Although I've traveled throughout the United States and lived in a variety of locations, this is where my heart resides.

I spent my childhood living in Illinois and completed my education in the Chicago suburbs. Although I was offered a scholarship to attend the Art Institute of Chicago, I chose to enroll at Trinity Christian College with a major in Psychology. I have spent the last decade of my life working with the developmentally disabled & mental health populations.
